About Susan
Never passive observers, viewers of Susan's images become participants in a process that starts with the artist. She is one photographist who is inspired by her impressions of color, light and emotions. The effectual realness of her images is largely a result of her heavy use of natural light. A native of Greenwich, Connecticut, she served for several decades as an executive Director of the Board and as Chairwoman of the Art Society of Old Greenwich. She has earned numerous awards for photographic excellence and many of her works are held in private collections, as well as the International Library of Photography and stock media platforms. Never planning a photograph during her travels throughout the United States and Europe, she lets her eye be her guide in capturing graceful detailed images, and looks for echoes of the past in the context of the present day. With an emphasis outdoors in natural light, her work features a wide range of subject matter focusing on character, details and romanticism, luring the viewer to step right into the scene, and, resonating up close and personal. Subjects include courtyards, gardens, sweeping landscapes and architectural details. The result is a beautiful and elegant reflection of the present atmosphere. Presented on this site is a sampling of her works.
